This OSHA 30 Hour Maritime Training is an industry-specific safety course tailored for Maritime and Ship Building, Maintenance, Modernization, and Repair.

Upon successful completion of the class, students will receive a certificate of completion and an OSHA 30-Hour Maritime training card will be mailed out within four to six weeks of completing the class.

OSHA 10 hour Maritime training is offered at the Illustra Training Facility as a live, in-person class, as well as virtually via online video conferencing. Both options are fully accredited by OSHA.

Students may enroll in either English- or Spanish-language class offerings for OSHA 10 Maritime. Our instructors are bilingual and provide training as well as curriculum support in either language.

OSHA 30-Hour Maritime Safety Training

OSHA Outreach Training with expanded topics  for more comprehensive awareness on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. Tailored for maritime industry shipyard and ship repair. This class 30-hour class is excellent for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility.

Course Overview:

Deepen your safety skills with this expert-led OSHA 30-Hour training class, tailored for the maritime industry.

OSHA 30 Maritime Safety Training provides a variety of training emphasizing in-depth  industry safety awareness including hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention of workplace hazards. This training course is specifically focused for supervisors and workers with safety responsibilities.

This training course also provides an overview of information regarding OSHA, including workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint.

The training will take a minimum of 30 hours to complete, and, in addition to the OSHA-mandated training topics, will be customized based on employer and attendees needs from a list of optional topics provided by OSHA.

    Who Should Take This Course:

    This course is intended for  supervisors and workers who have some safety responsibilities in the Maritime Industry. Students will receive in-depth training on a variety of topics with an emphasis on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention, not OSHA standards.

    Supervisors / Managers

    Supervisors and Managers responsible for overseeing employees’ safety while working in the production, assembly, and repair of maritime vessels.

    Fire Watchers / PAIs

    Designated Fire Watch and Permit-Authorizing Individual (PAI) personnel for expanded training on Maritime Industry safety.

    Employees with Safety Responsibilities

    Any employee who is responsible for safety protocols, procedures, oversight, or general safety measures as part of their job in the Maritime Industry.

    Compliance & Certification:

    FAQs:

    Should I take the OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Maritime Training?

    The 10-hour class is intended to provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards including basic awareness training on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of workplace hazards. The course also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and filing a complaint.

    The 30-hour class is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility as it provides a greater depth and variety of training on an expanded list of topics associated with workplace hazards in the maritime industry.

    Why can't I find this course offered in your calendar?

    OSHA 30-Hour Maritime Training is only offered upon request because we customize the course based on each company’s unique training needs. Please contact us at support@illustrapro.com to discuss your training needs and schedule an OSHA 30 training class.

    When will I receive my student course completion card?

    Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a temporary OSHA 30 Maritime course completion certificate. Your temporary certificate will be mailed out within four to six weeks of completing the class and is valid for 90 days. Cut and fold to carry in your wallet as proof of your OSHA 30-Hour certification. You can expect your permanent OSHA 30 Maritime card within 8 weeks from your class completion date. Permanent OSHA cards will be mailed out to the address you provided at registration.*

    If you sucessfully completed the OSHA 30 Maritime Training and have not received your final OSHA card within 10 weeks of completing your class, contact your employer, or contact us at support@illustrapro.com. If we haven’t heard from you regarding a missing or lost card within 12 weeks from the date of your class completion, you will be charged a fee for us to process and issue you a replacement card.

    *NOTE: OSHA cards are only mailed to US addresses.

    Does my Maritime OSHA 30 Certification Card Expire?

    As of April 1, 2019, Maritime student course completion cards do not expire. Training completed before this date remains valid. Cardholders are not required to obtain a replacement. If a replacement card is desired, the Maritime class must have been completed within the past five years. Illustra Pro students may request a replacement card here.
